Spent two months working in Munich, Germany, The last day before leaving, I was so lucky to be invited to join a party at the d’Wiesn, like locals call the Oktoberfest. Al pictures have been taken with a Ricoh GR3.

The Italian resistance (It. Resistenza italiana) is the umbrella term for the various partisan forces formed by pro-Allied Italians during World War II. They were also known as the Partisan Resistance, in Italian: Resistenza partigiana, and the Second Risorgimento.

The 1947 democratic Constitution of the Italian Republic declared itself to be “built on the Resistance”.

On April 19, 1945, concurrent with the renewal of the Allied offensive, the CLN called out a general insurrection.Bologna was liberated on April 21 by Polish and Brigata Maiella troops. Parma and Reggio Emilia were liberated on April 24. Turin and Milan were liberated on April 25 when Fascists retreated. Over 14,000 German and Fascist troops were captured in Genoa on April 26 and 27, when General Meinhold surrendered to the CLN. Allied troops arrived in the liberated cities in the next days.

This year’s rally held in Milan was dedicated to Vittorio Arrigoni, the italian volounteer killed in Gaza few days ago. A lot of political parties, association and citizens marched through Milan’s city center remembering partisans and citizens killed during the german occupation, and supporting the values of the Italian Constitution. The current italian government nor any party supporting it were present at the rally.
