Per un'Europa che dà voce al popolo

This is a series of political posters depicting old socialist block leaders, with a slogan that says “For a Europe who gives voice to the people”. It’s meant to highlight my personal disillusion about European politics and politicians.

The series features:

  • Todor Zikhov, President of Bulgaria from 1954 to 1989;
  • Josip Broz Tito, President of Yugoslavia from 1953 to 1980;
  • János Kádár, General Secretary of the Hungarian Socialist Workers’ Party from 1956 to 1988;
  • Gustáv Husák, President of Czechoslovakia from 1975 to 1989;
  • Enver Hoxha, President of Albania from 1944 to 1985;
  • Erick Honecker, President of GDR from 1976 to 1989;
  • Władysław Gomułka, First Secretary of Polish Unified Workers’ Party from 1956 to 1970;
  • Nicolae Ceaușescu, President of Romania from 1974 to 1989;
  • Leonid Brežnev, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Soviet Union from 1964 to 1982.
