Freddie Mercury (1946–1991), born Farrokh Bulsara in Zanzibar, was the charismatic lead singer and songwriter of Queen, one of the most influential bands in rock history. Gifted with an extraordinary voice and an unmistakable stage presence, he helped create masterpieces such as Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are the Champions and Don't Stop Me Now. His performance with Queen at Live Aid in 1985 is remembered as one of the greatest moments in live music history. He died in London at the age of 45 from AIDS-related complications, leaving an artistic legacy that continues to inspire generations of musicians and fans.
